The Urvashi Silver Manga Malai Necklace

The Manga malai or mango necklace is an iconic design in south indian jewellery and its antiquity can be traced to the Chola period. The mango is considered a wish-fulfilling tree and a symbol of love. Combining the two most loved motifs of the mango and the peacock this necklace awes us with the sheer intricacies of design and flawless craftsmanship.

It is crafted in the ancient 'Kundala Velai' technique of gem-setting and is composed of linked, mango pendants strung together on a flexible silver cord. Each mango pendant is rendered in three dimensional detail and the back is polished to a smooth finish so that it is comfortable for wear. Few examples of this kind of workmanship exist today .

The necklace uses traditional colours of red,green and white (in ancient times rubies, emeralds and diamonds were used).The necklace is crafted in Sterling (92.5) Silver and gold-dipped in a special process.

being tarnished or becoming black.)
*Exposed to the atmosphere, all silver is prone to oxidation/ blackening and consequent tarnishing ; this does not in any way signify that the Silver is impure. Gentle rubbing with a silver cleaning cloth or soft cotton cloth will restore the original shine.

jewellery is meant for occasional use only, it cannot be used
everyday. Gold polish will fade with regular use and frequent exposure to air and water and will need re-plating/polishing.
* All Gold plated ; Rhodium plated ; Rose gold plated silver jewellery
has to be stored in an airtight plastic cover away from
moisture, water and sweat. Proper storage will ensure that the
gold-finish, rhodium or rose-gold plating stays for a long time.
*We gold-plate our jewellery with 24 carat gold which gives it a real gold look. We do not use lacquer or other harmful chemicals.

*Avoid wearing jewellery while cooking, household cleaning,
bathing or swimming .
